The Hurricanes come into this as one of the more surprising teams of the year. Coach Randy Shannon has really gotten this team to play well and he's recruiting like crazy.
It's only a matter of time before Miami asserts itself atop the Big East again.
The California Golden Bears are a terrific bunch on offense, not so great on defense. The key will be how much pressure Cal puts on the Miami quarterback, he's only a freshman, and whether or not that 'Canes can stop Nate Longshore and that Cal offensive passing game.
I like what Shannon's doing in Miami but I don't like them enough to say they will beat the spread in here. To me, this is Cal's game all the way.
The Golden Bears should cover the 9 1/2 point spread.
